Happy Sunday everyone! As you can probably tell, we are creeping in on the fall season and if you’re in the same boat I am…there is a lot of work to be done on our fall wardrobes.
Bottoms- Let’s be honest, by now we all have a pair of red skinnies in our closet and great as they may look I am getting a little bored of their past-season charm. This season, I am really liking the look of dark purple skinnies, they have that slimming effect for all body shapes and purple is a hot fall colour!
Shoes- Fall season is also term for boot season. If you’re in the market for some new boots, let’s start with the real basics, you’re going to want to get your basic black boot (heel size up to you depending on what you’re comfortable with) and a tan colour, riding-like boot. Both go with pretty much everything and are absolutely essential to your fall wardrobe. Once you have those, let’s talk lace-up boots. In my personal opinion, I like the look of a brown or tan coloured lace up boot and one that comes just slightly higher than the ankle bone. For something a little fancier, say a night out on the town or for date night I am really digging the look of black suede ankle booties! Take a look at some of my picks!
Tops- Black trim blouses are a fall business casual staple (make sure you have a nude bra!) that can create an effortlessly sophisticated outfit. Cobalt blue is super hot this fall fashion season and why not add it to peplum? Peplum flatters everyone by creating a small waistline and accentuating your curves in the right places. And what would fall really be without a touch of plaid? Don’t go over board, add to an outfit for a casual lunch date with a friend or hanging around the house!
Accessories- To accessorize, start with a black slouchy toque (beanie) with your hair down softly curled or maybe in a messy side braid! Add a pop of animal print in a clutch purse or skinny belt! GOLD, GOLD, GOLD- accessorize with gold bangles, gold bib necklace, and gold rings! Don’t be afraid this fall to wear lots of jewellery! Jewellery can really help pull a look together- look at Forever 21 for cheap but good finds! Invest in an infinity scarf and wear it on those crisp fall days or drinking your well deserved pumpkin spice latte! Take a look for infinity scarves on Etsy.com. Instead of the typical red or pink lip opt for a darker shade to show off your daring side! Make sure if you are going to use a darker lip colour, see if you can find the matching lip liner – really take your time when applying, you don’t want it to look smeared or uneven.
